Weekly Update - What a Six Nations Weekend….

Mon, 16 Mar 2026, 13:26

The Saint George’s flag and bunting was fluttering in the breeze outside the O’Mahony household on Saturday night but alas it wasn’t to be as England came so close to enabling Ireland to take the title. What a fantastic tournament it was with any side now having the ability to beat anyone else with some cracking rugby on display. (Editors note - the flag and bunting were removed as quick as they were put up on Saturday night too but before the neighbours starting talking).

On Field Achievements Season to Date:

Whilst the Six Nations took centre stage and as we now head into the final stages of the season I thought it was worth noting some of our on-field achievements.

  • U13s unbeaten in their league and now play in the Oxfordshire Cup final this Sunday vs Oxford Quins, kick off at 3pm at Didcot. The whole squad is travelling and they are playing a curtain raiser also against Quins before the actual final
  • U16s play in the Bucks Plate Final this coming Sunday vs Drifters, kick off 2pm
  • Colts only lost two league matches all season, by a combined total of a mere three points. The Colts have also had 10 players selected to play County across both U17s and 18s, which is a fantastic number
  • Our Women’s side have won more matches than lost in their first ever competitive season, which is a fantastic achievement and are now considering playing up a league
  • With a game in hand, our mens second XV sit top of the league by one point with four regular matches lefts
  • Our first XV remain in second play, with Belsize Park in third, only three points behind, with three crucial matches remaining.
  • We have hosted two immensely successful mini tournaments

This Coming Weekend:

The 1st XV travel away to Teddington and the 2nd XV are at home against Slough 1st XV. Two crucial matches in our quest for promotion.

As mentioned earlier the club is hosting the Bucks Plate finals this Sunday with our U16 featuring, kick off at 2pm. Please come down to support the boys.

Belsize Park Pre-Match Lunch:

Finally there are still tickets available for the crucial Belsize match on the 28th March. To book please click on the link below:
