The New Season

Hi Folks

Here we are again at the start of a new season, with new coaches, new players, new committee members and a New Kitchen!

I hope that those of you who were down at the club over the weekend, had the opportunity to see all the work that has been done over the summer and like the results, I know that Angie is, and as the guardian of the kitchen, that is the most important thing!

Dave Rendell, is now our Chairman of Youth and Minis, a big job with big shoes to fill, having taken over the youth from Richard Gommo and the Minis from Russ Whitlock. He has made a fantastic start, has some very exciting plans and I know that you will all offer him your full support.

Richard Gommo is now Vice Chairman of the club and will continue to bring his unique humour and enthusiasm to a variety of projects over the coming year.

Richard Wilson will be organising all of the clubs festivals, both Mini and Fireworks. Again, a big job so please don't be shy in coming forward to help.

The senior sides are being led by Head Coach, Tom French, ably assisted by Fraser MacArdle and Dan Horton. With new players coming in and some retiring leaving, Tom and his team are looking forward to an interesting and exciting season.

This Saturday we will have our first home match of the season against Trowbridge, with a 3pm kick off. As usual, we will have our pre-match lunch at 1pm. 2 courses for £20 with wine, what's not to like! Contact Mile Wood by email at to book your place!

We are always looking to increase the pool of available bar staff from our own members, so if anyone is looking for some casual work, please do get in touch with Tony Rees at

We are also in discussions to find a new Club Steward, if anyone is interested in this role and is a Personal Licence Holder, please contact me directly.

That's all for now, hope that everyone has a fantastic season and hope to see you on the touch line on Saturday.
