3 sides out yet again!

Hi Folks

What a pleasure it was to be watching rugby in the sunshine this weekend!

There were 3 matches on Saturday, the 1's away to Stratford, the 2's at home to Buckingham and the 3's in a friendly against Chesham.

Unfortunately, the 1's suffered a 13-11 defeat at Stratford, in a game that I believe we should have won. It sounds like credit must go to Stratfords defense for keeping us out.

The second team match was a fantastic display of rugby, winning 71-10 against Buckingham. Tries were too numerous to mention but there were some excellent performances from many of the players.

The 3rd team match was fantastic, with 27 players, 4 sets of lads and Dads, with Ian Howell's twin sons, Barney and Will making their debuts alongside Ian, who must have been very proud. We had a clear lead at half time, but with so many changes at half time, Chesham came back strongly to be leading 31-29 with only minutes left. A penalty kicked for the corner saw Dave Gray, leap like a salmon! catch the ball at the back of the line and then the forwards set to work to drive over the line, only for Noel to com rushing in to the back of the maul, rip the ball of his son, Finn, and score the winning try! Really great game and hugely satisfying to see so many players available for the 3's. But for a couple more front row players, we would be putting 4 teams out!

Sunday saw the second weekend of girls rugby, with another great turn out and some real enthusiasm on show. Getting girls rugby at BRFC has been a longstanding goal, and thanks to the effort of Russ Whitlock we now have an age group manager in William Etchall, a Head coach in Lucy Summers who is being supported by Fiona McNicholas and many others to make sure that the girls really enjoy themselves.

The colts played a friendly against Chinnor yesterday and last week played A an C at home in the OBB A league and won 20-0 - which is always pleasing:)

Last week The Shed Barbers ? opened in Beaconsfield and we are delighted that they have joined forces with us as a new sponsor. With your Beaconsfield RFC membership card if you show your card, you will be entitled to 10% off your haircut at the barbers.

Several of the senior squad went down to support the opening night.

This Saturday, the 1's are at home to Swindon, and we are also having our Presidents Lunch. This is a brilliant event, and a lot of fun. At £30 a head, with a 3 course dinner and wine, it is superb value so if you haven't got your name down yet, please get in touch with President Mike Wood on and book a seat, or even a table with friends!

The seconds have a week off from league rugby but the 3's are away to Tring.

That's about all for now, have a great week and see you on Saturday.
