Beaconsfield 11-3 Windsor
Mike Eagle: Press Officer
Beaconsfield continued in their winning vein beating third placed Windsor at the weekend in pretty awful conditions which curtailed the promise of a open running game. As expected both teams were looking for the early opening try and was eventually it was Beaconsfield's prop Ben Bayliss who went over in a forward move left of the posts. The try wasn't converted, again not helped with the strong wind and rain. The first half was proving to be a close game with both teams trying hard to play good rugby. Just before half time Beaconsfield got a penalty just inside the Windsor 22 which extended the lead to 8-0 .
In the second half with conditions barely improving the game slowed somewhat with Beaconsfield mounting attacks only to be stopped by a strong defence. Windsor eventually got a penalty, opening their score with three points 8-3.
With time running out for the visitors Beaconsfield took advantage of one final penalty and sealed the afternoon with a final score 11-3.
Beaconsfield had successfully done the double over a good Windsor side and keep themselves one point ahead at the top of the league table.
