Beaconsfield took their penultimate league fixture to Stow on the Wold on Saturday only to loose out to a determined Stow side near the bottom of the table.
The visitor's began well pressuring the home side early keeping them in their own 22 but the game was well matched despite Beaconsfield's many attacks.
But it was the home side who used their forwards to push over the first try. The visitor's responded with a simple scissor move between Gerry Goss and Alex Springer to even the score at 7-7.
A Stow penalty took them ahead on the half hour, Beaconsfield were loosing possession with their line out and against a stronger scrum. The second Stow try again came from a line out and their forwards made sure of the try 17-7. The game was dividing up with a stronger Stow pack against faster Beaconsfield backs.
Second half began quickly with the home team running the ball straight at the visitor's on the right flank for an opening try 24-7.
Beaconsfield responded with a good second individual try from Alex Springer close to the posts 24-12, Beaconsfield were coming back more into the game as it settled to a slower pace. Next Chris Creak took the ball from a loose pass and worked his way over for the try 24-19.
The game was finally settled with a good try from Stow when one of their forwards took the ball all the way through Beaconsfield's defence for 31-19.
Never beaten Shaun Morgan got his own try with a determined run narrowing the score to 31-24. Beaconsfield then took an unconventional start to retain possession but the clock finally beat them with the game ending on 31-24.
