A very wet and windy weekend saw the 1'sts and 2nds play on Saturday and the U15's and the Colts play on Sunday.
The 1's were away to Banbury and were up against a very strong side in difficult conditions leading to a 50-10 loss. Banbury are a very strong side this year, sitting 3rd in the league so it was no surprise that this was s difficult game. The conditions were atrocious so very little chance of running rugby!
The 2nd team game at home against the Rams, clearly demonstrated this with Beaconsfield winning 7-6 following a converted try right at the end of the game.
Sunday saw a slightly drier day, although the pitch was still clearly very heavy. I understand that the U15's had a great win against Oxford Harlequins and I watched the Colts win 52-0 against Chesham. The result makes it sound like a walk over, it wasn't, Chesham worked hard and were unlucky not to score, however BRFC played some truly great rugby and kicked all but one conversion, which was no mean feat given the wind and the pitch.
A Coaches game of "Touch" with Santa hats etc went down very well after training!
Next Saturday sees BRFC hosting A&C in the semi final of the Bucks Cup. Kick off is at 1.45pm.
Please take a break from the Christmas shopping and come down to support the boys. The more people we can get down to welcome the team out onto the pitch, the better, this always gives the lads a huge lift and will be very welcome.
The Boxing Day Married vs Singles match is on, kick off at 11am. Do come down, its a great day for everyone young and old with the whole family being very welcome.
Lastly, we have another Uni reunion match v Marlow. This time it’s u23’s at Marlow on Wednesday the 2nd of Jan with a kick off at 7.30 pm.
This is a fantastic event and will undoubtedly showcase some real talent, so do stick it in your diary and come down to Marlow to support the boys.
It just remains for me to say Happy Christmas to all and best wishes for the New Year.
