This weekend, we had 3 matches on, the 1's away at Swindon, the 2's at home to Bicester and the 3's away at A&C.
A mixed bag of results with the 1sts losing 36-40 in a game I believe we could have won, but we came away with 2 losing bonus points to put us 7th in the league,
The 2's stomped Bicester scoring 10 tries, winning 69-19. The match was refereed by David Strettle, former Saracens and England winger, so presumably he kept up with play!
The 3's lost to A&C 32-10!
In a great, good news story, former BRFC mini and youth player, Ross Neal was again playing for Wasps on the wing, it just shows what you can do with hard work and talent!
Next Saturday the 1's are at home to Trowbridge with a 2.15 kick off and pre-match lunch as usual, please contact Mike Wood by email to firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your place. The 2's are away to Buckingham and the 3's are at home to Tring, so plenty of rugby to be enjoyed.
Coming up, we have the Bucks Cup match on 22nd December, at home against A&C, there will be a pre-match lunch on this day as well, lets make it as big as possible so why not put a table together and let Mike Wood know on the email address above.
Only 4 days later in the biggest game of the year, the Marrieds will be playing the SIngles, in fancy dress, refereed by Edward Longshanks and William Wallace. Kick off at 11, bar open from 9.30 with drinks and snacks to follow. Great day out for the entire family, so come down and have some fun!
The club could do with a bit of help from one or more people. As with many clubs, sponsorship is hugely important and it is getting more difficult each year as companies tighten their belts. As a club, we have a huge amount to offer potential sponsors so if you run a local business and would like more information, please do get in touch.
Perhaps more importantly, I would like to hear from anyone reading this, who could spare a couple of hours each week, to help in finding and securing new sponsors. We have a team doing this, but the club survives on its volunteers and this is a great opportunity to get involved and really make a difference, so if you are interested, please reply to me.
That's all for now, have a great week and see you on Saturday.
