Here we are, the final senior match of the season done! I don't quite know where the season has gone.
With the league already won, the first XV were able to relax and really put on a performance against Gosford All Blacks and put on a performance they did with a magnificent 92-0 win.
Gosford must have travelled with trepidation but even so, they did not know what hit them. The brand of rugby was fantastic with many spectacular tries.
The support from the whole club this year has been brilliant, the pre match lunches have been enjoyed by every one that has attended them and the players have put in performances that have been a joy to watch.
My thanks to every single person that has been involved both on and off the field for making BRFC such a brilliant place to be.
The Coaches have done an outstanding job with a great group of players who have been supported by excellent management, superb medical staff and an outstanding grounds man, all of whom have done everything possible to ensure that the players have the best possible chance of performing at the highest level.
This goes throughout all the senior teams and on into the youth and mini sections, all of who have enjoyed success this year through the fantastic efforts of their coaches, team managers, parents and volunteers without who, the club simply would not exist.
I would also like to thank our sponsors for their support throughout the year and in particular to Savills Estate Agents, who came down to present the club with a cheque for £1,000 which came from the sale, by them of a club members house, so if you are considering buying or selling, please do get in touch with Savills as the club will benefit.
I have no doubt that you will hear from me again soon as we begin preparations for next season, but I'll give you a couple of weeks off for the moment!
No doubt Touch Rugby will be starting very soon on Tuesday and Thursday nights as well as on Sunday mornings. These sessions are open to everyone, of every age and ability so come down and have a run around!
Lastly, I am sure that you will join me in wishing Mike Wood, our President well. Woody has an accident with his tractor last week which has resulted in a week in Wexham Park. He is fit, well and in good spirits, but does need a few operations on his arm!
Once again, my sincere thanks to everyone, have a great summer!
